Modern Birdhouses By Wieler

DIY, Inspiration, Outdoors, Pets April 11th, 2009

I still love finding bird houses that aren’t the norm and these from Modern Birdhouses by Weiler are another great collection.  There are three different roof styles and each would sit perfectly in a garden with a matching modern home.  At US$195 they are quite expensive, but perhaps if you are buying just one it mightn’t matter. However, I still want a row along my fence line one day so maybe it’s something I will have to make.  Or find myself a handyman to build something similar.  For more info on where to get them and the sizes, click here.

Adventures on Etsy – Bean Town Handmade

Adventures on Etsy, Pets February 14th, 2009

Had to show you this today.  I find the bonnet sooo cute, but can imagine the humiliation the dog is feeling….unless of course he’s about to go out in the NY snow.  Anyway, you can also get the far more useful collars that are so pretty all girl dogs should have one – she calls them neck warmers; or the jackets. Starting at about $US25 (NZ$48) they are something special for your canine, and she can make them any size, not just for Boston Terriers – (how cute is Bean).

Bird Cage Aquarium – Duplex By Constance Guisset

Inspiration, Pets January 27th, 2009

Master Four is asking for a fish, which I try to skirt by telling him how he has to clean it each fortnight and that there are lots of …ahem…poos…in the stones.  However, after eyeing this, even I would rather like a goldfish.  Wouldn’t this look great in an entrance, all natural wood and organic shape.  Designed by Constance Guisset, the Duplex allows the bird to fly at the same level as the fish.

The Prettiest Bird Cage Ever! The Seraphine

Art Beautiful Stuff, Pets January 19th, 2009

If you are wanting to splash out on that special pet bird, then how about this work of art. The Seraphine bird cage is a limited edition inspired by the Versailles gardens of the sun King.  Seraphine resembles an archway depicting a romantic dream world.  Perhaps just a bit to fancy to actually use, but as a piece of art, this is gorgeous.  The good and the bad – they ship internationally, you can even pay by paypal, but it’s a pricey NZ$6700.

Barchitecture – Cool Kennels For Dogs

Outdoors, Pets October 16th, 2008

These are cool.  Anna Keen of Barchitecture couldn’t find a hip enough house for her pooch so decided to design and manufacture her own range.  Each house is handmade locally in Sydney using sustainable plywood, and with optional soft furnishings and even wallpaper, the dogs who get these are pretty lucky! Priced from AU$795…ouch.

Cool Cat Litter Boxes

Home accessories, Pets October 11th, 2008

We have a cat but she’s all trained up and allowed to come and go outside, but for those who have indoor cats or little kitties needing to be trained, here are a few cat litter boxes that ‘hide’ more than hurt your decor. My favourite is definitely the first image.  Left to right all in US$.

 Cat Litter Hider/Bed Combo – $249.95

Litter Box Planter – $69.95

Kitty Washroom – $99.95

Cat Cave - $498.00

Dogs Doing it For Themselves – Canine Fashion

Pets July 24th, 2008

Oh, this is a good (and cute) idea.  I get tired of carrying a hipsack with my dog’s ball and plastic bags etc inside it – now she can carry her own stuff!  My dog is black, so I would choose the red backpack for ordinary walks during the morning.  But for showing off at the school gate, or walking the strip shops, I would so get the camo print for a walk on the edgy side, plus she can carry my phone and keys!  Fluppies have so many other great fashion ideas for your furry best friend – check out the Angel Wing Harness, the Desperate Housedogs Tee, and the Fire Hydrant Tag. Something for every spoiled canine sidekick.
