Sewing – Quilt, Bags, All-sorts
Clothes and Bags, DIY, Inspiration, Textiles July 18th, 2008
Today I thought I’d share some photos of a few sewing projects I’ve done over the last year. As you can see, there is a theme – yes Amy Butler fabric….isn’t it gorgeous. We have no sewing room so when I start the dining table ends up covered in fabric, patterns, thread etc for some time – that’s why I only attempt short projects. The pillows were first and they are looking a little tired now. Then a little more recently I have become obsessed with making reusable bags for friends and family, and the little dress I made for my niece. The quilt was quite a project…I don’t know anything about quilting (neither did my sewing machine) and I did this over about 4 days. That’s me laying out all 208 pieces to get the right pattern – by the end it was not so much fun but it looks great at the end of our bed and has been so useful for hut building! The ironing board cover was a 6pm at night idea, that went a bit awry when my nearly four helped cut the inner padding and stuffed it into my pants so I had a cats tail! The top right images are of the little DIY birds in my earlier post – slowly they will take shape. Hope you enjoyed a peak into my sewing projects and will keep you posted if I complete anything else.
